Our Story
It all started in a garage back in 1998, when our founder decided to design a simple tent that could attach to the roof of an SUV. As avid campers and road trippers, we understood the desire for compact, multipurpose gear that made outdoor living more accessible. With some fabric, poles and ingenuity, the first roof top tent prototype was born.
Feedback from fellow camping fanatics was overwhelmingly positive. They loved being able to sleep off the ground and turn their vehicles into a cozy bedroom on wheels! We knew we were onto something big. Soon, orders started pouring in from across the country. Rightline Gear® was officially in business!
As demand grew, so did our product line. We added on truck tents, cargo bags, jeep tents and more vehicle-based shelters and storage solutions. Our focus has always been enhancing the outdoor experience through smart design and premium materials. Each new product aims to maximize space, provide protection from the elements and enable adventure seekers to feel safe and comfortable on the road.

Roof Top Tents
Our premium roof top tents sit atop your roof rack, providing a comfortable sleeping space wherever you go. They open and close in seconds! Just unzip the cover, unfold the tent, and you have a raised shelter complete with mattress and ladder.
We offer hard shell and soft shell models to suit different budgets and weights. The durable fiberglass hard shell maximizes interior space and weather protection. Our lightweight nylon soft shell delivers impressive strength at nearly half the weight.
Both styles feature heavy duty ripstop nylon rain flys, no-see-um mesh screens and high density foam mattresses. Millions of people have experienced the convenience of our roof top tents on adventures worldwide!
Truck Tents
Transform your truck bed into a cozy sleeping cabin in just minutes with our innovative truck bed tents! They attach to your truck bed sides and tailgate so you can shelter and organize gear in the back.
The extendable telescoping pole system allows you to install the tent at different truck bed lengths. The water resistant cover and heavy duty floor keep you dry on rainy nights. You can access the truck cab through the rear window opening.

SUV Tents

Cargo Bags & Carriers
Transport bulky gear securely on the roof of your car, SUV, van or truck with our rugged roof top cargo carriers. They mount easily on most factory or aftermarket roof rack crossbars without tools. The vinyl-coated polyester fabric is weather resistant and won’t fade or stretch.
For extra packing space inside your vehicle, check out our flexible cargo bags. The cavernous compartments attach with straps to keep contents stable. They’re great for groceries, sports equipment, camping gear and anything else you need to haul. Multiple sizes available to fit your storage needs.
We also make specialty carriers for ladders, canoes, kayaks and other large items. Wherever your gear goes, our bags and boxes will protect it in transit!
Jeep Tents
Jeeper enthusiasts rejoice! Our Jeep tent line lets you sleep off the ground and still feel one with nature. Models available for 2-door and 4-door Wranglers.
The specially designed sleeves attach to the back of your Jeep and allow access to the rear compartment. The waterproof rainfly and taped seams keep weather out while the mesh windows and doors allow fresh air in.
The low profile footprint and camo color options help you blend into the wilderness. With ample headroom and a comfy mattress, you can camp anywhere your Jeep can take you!

Our exclusive WeatherArmorTM fabrics use advanced coatings and laminates to create waterproof, rugged outdoor gear. Key features include:

- DWR Finish: Causes moisture to bead up and roll off the surface.
- RF Welded Seams: Bonds layers together without needle holes that can leak.

CycloneTM Port System
Our CycloneTM port system maximizes ventilation in hot conditions. The dual-port design utilizes:
